What part of Oahu does Malama Housekeping service?

Malama Housekeeping is based on the North Shore. We include Haleiwa, Waialua, Wahiawa, Mililani, Sunset Beach, Pupukea, Turtle Bay, Laie, Kahuku and are willing to make exceptions to go beyond this service area with a fee for distance.

Do I have to be home during the cleaning?

You are not required to stay in the home while we clean. We encourage our clients to give the cleaners space to most efficiently get the house cleaned with the least amount of distractions. The more distractions there are (talking, having to move cars, unexpected added tasks) the longer the service takes and can result in an extra charge if the cleaning takes significantly longer than it originally quoted.

Does Malama Housekeeping bring their own cleaning agents and vacuums?

YES. We arrive with all of the cleaning materials we need and take them with us when we leave. We’re proud to use the best products and vacuums on the market to ensure that we leave your home looking spotless.If you have any preferences in regards to what cleaning products we use, feel free to let us know and we’ll do everything we can to work with your requests.

What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept all major credit/ debit cards via online payments, Venmo, and cash. We do NOT accept checks.

How long will the cleaning take?

For our general cleaning, deep cleaning and vacation rental cleaning our goal is to keep the cleanings no more than 5 hours. The larger the home, the more cleaners we will assign to the job. Example: 3br 2ba home would take 4 hours with 2 cleaners.

Are there any services you don't offer?

While we offer a wide range of home cleaning services, we will not resurface/wax/refinish floors, carpet cleaning, washing personal clothing, move large furniture, extensive mold removal, bio hazards, pet waste and insect or rodent problems.

Do you offer hourly service?

While we make every effort to keep all homes within our flat-rate pricing; homes that are extra dirty or larger than normal for the given number of bedrooms and bathrooms may incur additional charges over the flat-rate fee. This is generally reserved for very large homes or homes where we are only doing a couple of rooms or homes with a lot of clutter or dirt. Please note there is no guarantee on our hourly service and we cannot come back and re-clean if you do an hourly service.

Do we need to do anything before Malama Housekeeping arrives?

To ensure maximum efficiency, we ask that you pick up any toys or clothing before we arrive. We also ask that you find a place for your pets so they’re comfortable while we clean.  Always let your housekeeper know if there are any rooms or decor that are off limits to us. Following through with these requests will help both your family and our team ensure that all of your possessions are in a safe place.

Will it always be the same housekeepers for reoccurring cleanings? 

We believe that it’s very important to always send the same team to clean your home and we do everything in our control to make this possible. If a member of our team is absent, we’ll do our best to find the most suitable replacement. All of our residential housekeepers undergo extensive Malama Housekeeping training to ensure that the quality of our work is always consistent.
